AgrarKontakte International (AKI) e.V.

AgrarKontakte International (AKI) e.V. is an independent and registered non-profit association which specialises in coordinating, executing and supervising international projects in agriculture, nutrition and the environment. Following the many years of international engagement by the Landesbauernverband in Baden-Württemberg e.V. (LBV) with a wide variety of countries in 1998, AKI is able to fall back on a quarter of a century’s worth of experience.

Due to these many years of experience, the Kuratorium Weltpflügen 2018 e.V. has put AKI in charge of the board of trustees of the 65th World Ploughing Championship 2018.

Under the voluntary management of Hans-Benno Wichert and seven board members, AKI has been continuously expanding and adding international contacts to its existing network since the association was founded.

In addition, a team of six full-time staff managed by general director Dr. Monika Erath works closely with partners in Central and Eastern European and CIS countries, but also in other countries in South-east Asia or South America.

The AKI’s main areas of focus are organising large-scale events such as the World Ploughing Championship, as well as running development and specialist programmes, cooperation projects, academic seminars and delegation visits for farmers and experts in the agricultural and nutritional industries, both in Germany and in numerous partner countries.
